Introduction
Cullify (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a photo culling and organizing app and this website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with our app and website. We respect your privacy and aim to keep personal data to a minimum.
Summary — the short version
- Photos and image analysis happen entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
- We only collect the information required to manage subscriptions and restore purchases (see details below).
- We do not collect payment card details — payments are processed by Apple via the App Store.
What we collect
We limit collection to what is necessary to provide the subscription service and to operate the app:
- Subscription / purchase data: receipts, transaction identifiers, entitlement state, and minimal metadata from the app stores to verify and restore purchases.
- Device & platform identifiers: app install identifiers and platform receipt identifiers used solely for purchase verification and restoration.
- Technical logs (optional): IP address and crash reports only if you choose to enable crash reporting. Currently no analytics or crash reporting is enabled by default.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not upload or store your photos on our servers; all photo analysis runs locally on your device.
- We do not collect payment card information — Apple handles payments via the App Store.
- We do not collect email addresses, profile data, or other personal details unless you explicitly provide them via support/contact forms (none are required for the app to function).
How we collect information
Purchase and entitlement data are collected via platform receipt flows when you subscribe or restore. We do not receive raw payment details from the stores.
Why we process this data
- To provide the subscription service and verify entitlement status (performance of a contract).
- To enable restore-purchase flows and refund handling.
- To respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Third parties
We use the following third parties for subscription and payment management:
- Apple App Store — handles payment processing and provides receipts; we do not receive card details.
Data retention
We retain purchase receipts, entitlement state, and necessary logs for as long as required to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and for fraud prevention. If you request account or data deletion we will remove app-side cached state; the stores manage retention of receipts on their systems according to their policies.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or otherwise entitled, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and obtain a copy of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
GDPR & international transfers
GDPR applies if you use our app from the EU. Processing of subscription and receipt data is based on performance of a contract (providing the subscription). The App Store may process data outside the EU; Apple relies on its own safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses). We recommend reviewing Apple's documentation for details about transfers and safeguards.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal data, including secure transmission (HTTPS) when communicating with third parties and limiting stored data to the minimum necessary. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
Our service is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Cookies and site tracking
Our marketing site does not use analytics or tracking cookies by default. If analytics or crash reporting are added, we will disclose them here and implement appropriate consent mechanisms for EU visitors.
How to restore purchases
To restore purchases, use the app’s restore flow which verifies receipts with the App Store. Restoration requires that the original purchase Apple ID is signed in on the device.
